Our Story
Tess began her career in 2011 after graduating from the Electrology Institute of New England. Upon passing her board exams, she spent five years at a high-volume clinic in Connecticut, training under seasoned mentors. This fast-paced environment provided her with “real-world” technical skills that went far beyond the classroom.
In 2014, Tess opened her successful practice in Wilmington, NC, where she spent years building strong partnerships with dermatologists, endocrinologists, and surgical specialists. After a decade of serving the NC community, she experienced the physical toll common in this profession—a back injury that necessitated a shift in how she practiced. Choosing to prioritize family and her love for her horses, Tess relocated to Aiken County in 2026.
While she has adjusted her pace, her passion for the industry is unchanged. Tess opened Electrolysis by Tess within the Houndslake Wellness Center to bring her high-caliber expertise to Aiken. Because South Carolina is an unlicensed state, Tess voluntarily maintains her North Carolina Licensure and memberships in the AEA and GPEA. This commitment ensures she follows the strictest sterilization protocols and completes annual continuing education, providing Aiken residents with the same “gold standard” of care she perfected over 15 years in regulated states.

I have been a licensed electrologist since 2011, and my passion for this industry is just as strong today as the day I began. My journey started in 2010 at the Electrology Institute of New England, one of the most prestigious training facilities in the country. Following graduation, I joined a high-volume hair removal clinic where I had the unique opportunity to train under a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience. While my formal education provided a strong foundation, those years of mentorship allowed me to refine the advanced technical skills and precision I bring to my clients today.
In 2014, I opened the first location of Electrolysis by Tess in Wilmington, NC. For eleven wonderful years, I dedicated myself to helping my North Carolina clients achieve their goals and regain their confidence.
Recently, I relocated to Aiken County to be closer to my family and to bring my horses home. I am thrilled to establish my practice here in Aiken and to share my expertise with this community. Helping people feel comfortable and confident in their own skin is truly rewarding, and I look forward to supporting you on your hair removal journey.
